We went on a Garden Club visit to a Rosudeon garden yesterday evening which was lovely. They had a very natural looking aviary with loads of zebra finches who were flitting about in and out of the various shrubs which were growing in there ~ pretty little birds. There were also 2 Chinese Quail, not sure if they were youngsters or whether they're just small anyway. They looked fun, rushing about on the ground in and out of the greenery.

Our feeding station was very busy on wednesday evening following the rain, not sure why that should be the case unless it was just their timing that had changed which meant we were watching at the right time. Lots of long tailed tits and the wonderful goldfinches.

When we did the Garden Safari one of the gardens on Prednnack Cliffs had an aviary with finches and quail.........if they have lots of flight room I think they are lovely in a garden.

They really are pretty little birds, aren't they? The Botanic Gardens just outside Southport have an aviary with quite a sizable collection of birds and the girls took a fancy to the zebra finches, along with the gorgeous little love birds. They also had peacocks that wandered freely amongst the gardens and the visitors and seemed to display their wonderful tails almost to order as soon as they saw a camera pointed in their direction!!
