You have to see this item...I was so moved and the vet , Noel , strikes me as a really compassionate man who really does care!

Goodness, Linda, finally here's a vet you can admire! I wonder if he'd mentor someone on the mainland near Arran......

I'm a bit behind with reading the papers but saw the photo of the cat today in fridays paper ~ absolutely amazing how that Vet operated. Aren't animals resiliant?

He certainly is pioneering some inventive surgery, but if you don't have insurance for your animals I'm not sure you would afford it. The cat who has been featured with regard to the programme is insured but the cost has gone way over what the insurance will cover so the owners still have a hefty bill. But everything has to start somewhere and in time the cost might become more manageable for others.

A very clever vet. His care of the little black cat featured was moving as he was so gentle with him and has saved his life. The actual process of providing artificial legs was amazing even more so to see the cat up and walking around very comfortable in his new state.

Animals seem to adapt to losing their limbs as it's not unusual to see a 3 legged dog running around happily. Suppose they don't think about it, just get on with moving around. I remember a friend whose mentally disabled daughter had to have a hysterectomy and was up and about much quicker than the other patients as she didn't really understand what she'd had done and thought it was her arm that was the problem as she had a drip attached to it.

Yes the cost is way above what most can afford and even with insurance it may not be possible but its the opportunity to be be given the chance...today i asked for a referral to Glsgow Uni vet hospital for one of our cats and the vet said of course....at least I can feel like I am giving a cat the chance...
both people featured in the programme are obviously also well off...its a shame that chances such as this cannot be given to those who dont have the means but may have the love...but as you say Gloria all these things start somewhere and hopefully, eventually, the price will come down.
He was all i expected though and am leoking forward to the next one....the equipment in there was staggering! what a place!

Must ask Jackie if she knows him, she seems to know innovative vets. Hope the referral comes up with some answers Linda.
