Well, isn't that just typical?! I have just been reading the monthly outlook forecast on the BBC's website and this nice long spell of settled weather is going to come to an abrupt end - and when is it going to do that? Yes, you've guessed it - this Thursday! Apparently the Atlantic systems are going to take over again and we can all expect gales and wet weather, particularly in the west on Thursday and Friday, with squally showers over the rest of the weekend. I won't tell you what I said as I read that - suffice to say it wasn't very ladylike!!! I had hoped to get away with bringing just a fleece and cagoule but it looks as though the Regatta raincoat will be required again - just hope we don't have a repeat of the hailstones at Oliver Land on Sunday. I currently have a photo on my desktop that I took last year as we were filing down the path towards Carn Barges with blue skies and the sun sparkling off the sea and I had high hopes of a repeat of those conditions this year - but maybe not.

I think a big dose of Faith is required...........and a bit of Hope chucked in. I watched Countryfile Forecast and thought.....oh Flip!! or something like that. Think we will be a bit stymied with having the girls with us two soaking wet dogs is no fun for anyone and they will want to be carried if it's horrible. Think Eddie will be doing a lot of dog-sitting.......I had hoped they would be able to stay at home while we were out and about but that's impossible!! Eddie due back today, tomorrow at home and then............Go West Young Man!! (well maybe not so young!)

I hate to say it but yes the sun is shining beautifully here and we've been on Porthcurno beach this afternoon with lots of folk sun bathing , albeit fully clothed. The Lizard was wonderfully clear too. I'm just hoping next weekend wont be too wet and windy ~ there's plenty of time for the forecast to change yet. Postive thinking is required!!!!!!!!!

I did notice the weather forecast and thought of you all for the weekend. I am really hoping that the rain and wind stays away until after Friday because my Dad is coming down to fit the security lights. Not sure whether he will want to do it in that that kind of weather but quite a lot of the work is indoors. Anyway back to you lot in Cornwall. Remember what I always say, the weather in Cornwall is unpredictable. You may and I hope that you are, be surprised that the weather isnt quite what is forecast. And if the weather isnt quite as good, you must just then 'be British' about it all. Make sure that you have waterproofs etc and dont let the weather spoil it for you.

I am sure that come what may you will have a great time and I am looking forward to seeing some pictures. I will keep my fingers crossed about the weather!

There will be no question of the weather spoiling the weekend for us, Adrian - it never has and never will. It will just be a bit frustrating if it turns out wet and windy after this prolonged dry sunny spell that we have been enjoying. My camera is charged and ready to go, and I have cleared plenty of space on the memory card so will have room for about 1500 pics! Don't think I shall be taking quite that many but will try to get photos from all the events so that you can all share it with us.

Hope you get your outside lights fixed ok. My window cleaner was here today and it was a bit windy this afternoon so I ended up holding the ladder for him. He insisted he would be ok but I didn't want him falling off in my garden! I have public liability insurance but I'd rather not have to make use of it.

Rachel is a bit worried about the same thing! I will be at work and she is no shape to hold a ladder. I think that my step-mother is coming down so she may have to to it. Like I said a lot of the work is inside so hopefully he wont have to be up the ladder for long!

Thank you for taking the pictures Kath and I really will be looking forward to seeing them. I would love to have been there but thats the next best thing. Our camera only has memory for about 500 pictures but I can fill that up in a couple of days in Cornwall. Thats the beauty of digital, you havent got to pay for them all to be developed so you can snap away as much as you like.

The weather has been lovely over the last few days. I actually had to water some pots in the garden yesterday as the violas were wilting! I was going to put my replacement greenhouse cover on as well yesterday but thought I better leave it until after Friday!

Well after seeing the weather forcast I took a trip to Millets today and bought waterproof trousers and jacket so at least Im prepared. It would be good to think I didnt need them though but that might be wishful thinking! Shame about Val and Jeff as we got on so well with them last year. Lets hope they make it to next years meeting.

Perhaps if everyone comes with all their wet weather gear then the sun will shine instead ~ we can but hope.

I've more or less decided to go back to Plan A and bring a warm fleece + cagoule. If I get soaked, so be it, but my Regatta raincoat is quite heavy and bulky and if it is also fairly mild I shall swelter in it. I'm going to have a practice "pack" in a few minutes. It's easy in winter, you just pack sweaters and trousers, in summer, Tshirts and blouses etc, but with this time of year you could need both - and I don't have much room for both! Think it will be the layered look then I can put on and take off as necessary.

If only I could bring our weather today with me! It is a perfect Spring day here - cloudless blue skies, and warm sunshine! We have temperatures in double figures for the first time since last November.

Not quite such a sunny day down here today ~ sun keeps trying but not really very strong but it's pleasantly warm. On my way back from German Group at Newlyn I saw the Scillonian out in the bay which surely means Spring has come. The funnel is no longer yellow which is a shame, it's white.

Sunny here, warm(ish).......I have a few clothes at Bryher but so long since I saw them I'm not sure what!! I'm pretty sure I have a heavy fleece there, so if it get's extra cold Kath I could bring it for you.....only thing is you will probably need some Eau de Cologne as I have a feeling everything smells damp - again!! This will be due to the house being open to the sky for so long.
I have no idea what I'm taking, my long Barbour will be a definite though and the hat that goes with.........then if it rains it's so long the rain just runs off on the ground!! It's me dooggies I'm more concerned about, so I'm packing dog towels and extra bedding. Their pushchair is already in the KA not that I think we can take them on the walks in it, but it might be useful.

Now come on Gloria why cant you get a nice rucksack or baby carrier so they can come along...think its just an excuse myself! They would love it too....you can let them down in the shorter grass... the doggies want to go!!

the doggies want to go too!!

That would be fun on Monday, Linda, if John finds as many stiles for us to clamber over as there were last year! Gloria and I had to make full use of Gary and John's helping hands to just get ourselves over, never mind Gloria having to do it with dogs on her back!:lol!:

I can just imagine the mayhem too at the Queens if Monty and Bramble suddenly discovered they had two new playmates. Josie and Saffron were so good, they just used to curl up in two chairs and sleep all through the AGM. Monty too, is usually very good until there is any applause, then he joins in with an enthusiastic "woof" or two. Bramble is another kettle of fish entirely - she is adorable but a proper little madam!!

I'd be game to do it if it were just Eddie and myself but I think to give it a go with others having to slow down if you found it didn't work would be too much of a concern for me. We'll just have to organise ourselves differently from other years.......it's a 'B' nuisance but there it is, we shouldn't be in this position. But we are!!

There'll be plenty of us around to help if need be, and I for one won't mind slowing down and enjoying the views!
