I can't find where we were talking about snowdrops so I've started again! I see the bulbs I planted in the autumn have just started to have flowers on them so this is the start of our snowdrops in this garden. Also noticed 2 iris flowers ~ the very tiny sort so things are looking up. Our echiums are getting really fed up with the low temperatures and most of the lower leaves have gone grey and fallen off but at the moment the tops are still green so we're hoping they flower this year.

Jane to do a search go to 'advanced search' in right hand corner of sub nav just beneath where Gloria's name is mentioned for the photo and type in the key word, in this case, snowdrops, and then go down to type of search and click on' posts' and then click searchand a list will come up showing all the places we have mentioned snowdrops. The word will be highlighted in each post it is mentioned. Hope that helpd everyone if your searching for anything.

There should be lots of snowdrops at Bryher as Jane (previous owner) planted lots in the garden, doubt they will still be at their best when I get to take a look though.
Bulbs shooting well here in Croxley and various other things greening up. Must visit the allotment to see what's going on there.

We went to Trengwainton Garden this morning and were admiring the snowdrops under the trees when we were spotted by Adrian, Rachel and Rupert! With the 2 Rough Collies we would have been difficult to miss. It was really great to meet them all after all the corresponding here on this Forum. It was overcast this morning but no frost overnight and now this afternoon the sun is shining in a blue sky for them so that's good.

Good to hear that they arrived safely, and that you got to meet up with them all this morning, Jane. I remember Adrian saying before how much he likes Trengwainton, so I'll bet it felt good to be back there. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit there with you, Bryan and the girls.

I've put a photo of the fancy snowdrops in my album. Unfortunately it isn't as clear as I'd have liked, due perhaps to keeping my gloves on but the name is clear so you can google that and there's a better close up shot although it doesn't show the flower as quite so rounded, maybe it's not fully out.

Just found this thread! Thanks Jane, it was great to meet you as well. Our visit to Trengwainton seems such a long time ago now but we are going to make a real effort to visit in the summer and see all of the beautiful Agapanthus plants!

We were in Gloucestershire today, visiting family. I was really surprised by just how many wild Snowdrops there were in the hedgerows, on verges and under trees around the village. They really were beautiful.

Gardeners World last night did quite a feature on Snowdrops - lots of different varieties. I think the programme has improved since the last series which was dire at times. Not so much phaffing around.
