Today the weather on the Isle of Arran is glorious! The sun is very warm, a gentle breeze and it feels like a summer's day.
The leaves on the trees are finally emerging and we've seen a couple of butterflies...only a week or so now to the arrival of the swallows and then Spring has offically arrived.

Having said that the geese are already nesting!

The Collared Doves are courting!

The cats are all flopped whereever!

....it feels good!

A bees a buzzin day here too.........lovely blossom perfumed air with a hint of sea breeze. Walked through the village and kept walking for longer than I intended, took it steady as the foot problem is threating to be a problem again, but it was all level going so managed it well. It was good to be out and about and looking way across farmland towards Prednack cliffs.
A wonderful feeling of release from Winters grip. I can but hope that it continues.

A beautiful weekend up here too, and still lovely this morning. All the trees have that glorious fresh spring green sheen on them now and the blue tits have taken up residence in our nest box outside the kitchen window and are extremely busy flying in and out with nesting material.

Hope the foot problem doesn't flare up too badly, Gloria. Take it carefully. Shame you have to go home to Hertfordshire today, hope it's not too long before you are back at Bryher again.

As suspected sore foot today but no long lasting damage. I just couldn't resist walking once I started so I wasn't wearing the best shoes for walking. But I had a fun time doing it.
I visited a gallery in Mullion Meadows the artist comes from the Gower Peninsular. One of his paintings was the same view and subject as the beautiful Penlee Gallery one we all admired. I couldn't stretch to say it was as good but it was certainly good in a different way. Price tag. £1,125.....when I said I liked it but couldn't afford it, he said I should say that "one day I will buy it" that keeps all the thoughts open to the prospect rather than cutting the idea out. I kind of agree - but I still can't afford it.........right now!! :D

Is that the Breakers picture? Not surprised you decided against buying at that price!! Mind you, I should talk, I have got my eye on several Amanda Hoskin pictures at the Beside The Wave gallery in Falmouth - some of which are over £2K - in my dreams!! My £74 lottery winnings won't go very far to affording that, I'm afraid. I did buy a lovely print of one of her pics from the gallery last year, but I should love to own an original one day.

Yes, it's the 'Breakers'. Of course not as detailed or as stunning but still a good picture. Somehow however much I tell myself I will buy it one day - I remain somewhat unconvinced!
Well done on your winnings, it all goes towards a nice time in the West. :D

Yes, the winnings will be spent in the Duchy! The girls and I really fancy going on one of the boat trips out from Penzance to see the seals, dolphins and basking sharks, but they are a bit pricy at £38.00 each so we have decided that the winnings should go towards paying for that trip. Now all we need is the calm weather to ensure the trip goes ahead.

This is the trip we want to do. It says it is perhaps not suitable for those with dodgy backs, but what the heck!! I'm willing to take that risk because it just looks so exciting!

And the cameras will definitely be going with us! Last time I saw dolphins off St Ives, I had stupidly left my camera back at the hotel. I shall not make that mistake again!!

That's a link worth keeping Kath, if ever we get round to some spare time we might give it a go. Certainly looks exciting. I guess the bobbing around with the boat skimming along is why they mention backs. Take a cushion to sit on to lessen the impact. :)
