Hello Julia
Welcome to the wonderful world of Minack on this very friendly forum. Linda says you are interested in Cornwall and Derek and Jeannie, so look forward to hearing lots about them from you.

Hello Everyone I'm Julia.Thank you so much Kath,Gloria and Linda for such a warm welcome. What a great choice of avators,I chose the Tabby because it is the image of our cat Tabitha who died aged 20 this March, much loved and missed.I moved to the Haute Vienne area of France two and a half years ago, having retired in 2006, with my husband,we have two children, three grandchildren and two grand-dogs all living in Dorset.I rediscovered Derek and Jeannie very recently after thirty odd years, and thanks to the net discovered F.O.M.S,I am getting enormous pleasure from reading the Chronicles again, even more so now I have time to enjoy them.I love Cornwall and would like to have made our home there but my husband's heart was not really in it,still who knows, never say never. We will be having a holiday down there sooner rather than later and hope to coincide it with an AGM although it won't be next year, can't wait to visit Oliver Land.I am looking forward to "meeting everyone" in the discussions on the Forum.Hope I haven't run on too long.Julia. :D

Hi Julia, lovely to hear from you. As Gloria says, don't apologise for running on too long - you will soon learn that several of us are experts at doing just that on this forum! We love to chat and it is so nice to have a new member to join in and give us a new perspective on the Chronicles, so do chip in on any topic that takes your fancy, or start a new one of your own.
If you do manage to time a visit to Cornwall to coincide with Memorial Weekend one year, I can promise you that you will not be disappointed. I have said before that I do not believe there is a friendlier group of people anywhere than FOMS folk. I went to the AGM on my own last year, knowing no-one and came away 4 days later feeling that I had made some lifelong friends.
