Did anyone else watch that superb new series on BBC1 last night set in Guyana? If not, do try to catch the remaining two programmes in the series because it was fantastic. Amazing photography, spectacular scenery - it was one of the best programmes I have watched in a long time.

I know that people who get those kinds of shots have high-end photographic/video equipment, but still I'm in awe of the amazing shots that they get!

Yes, I watched it and found it absolutely amazing. I didn't believe there were any unspoilt paradises (for animals, if not humans) to be discovered. Sadly Guyana is at risk but there is a small hope that common sense (to leave it be) will rule. Here's hoping. The bravery of the camera crew etc. was very moving, as they endured some real hardships, pain and fear to make the film for our benefit. And, of course, I particularly loved the frogs! The river otters quite scared me! A first class TV programme and let's hope they get lots of awards for it and also influence the powers that be to protect the area for ever.

Another fantastic episode again this week. My heart was in my mouth watching Steve Backshall inching his way up that rope out of the gorge by the waterfall. Even though I had seen him on The One Show a couple of weeks ago, I was still willing him not to fall!
Quite a lot in this programme that had me averting my eyes. I am a real arachnaphobe so all the close up shots of that massive tarantula had me squirming in horror.
And what was Steve about, jumping into the river with crocodiles and ferocious piranha fish! Does this man have a death wish?! Couldn't believe it when that piranha started gnawing a chunk out of the metal side of the boat!
If this series doesn't win an award, there is no justice. It is simply superb.
