Can't help it! I like the name Daisy!

What I dont know is if it is a she!

Anyhow what am I talking about?

A new arrival Daisy...one gosling!

While I was typing up the note about avoiding the BIG chore...a BIG dog called Lulu came into me with a woof! and huf! and hurry up and follow me ..there's trouble!

Off I go and she stands outside woofing!..Where I say? She races over to the barn..I follow. Nothing! I look back at her and shout 'Nothing!'..she rushes around as if to say there is there is! and then I hear it...that familiar whistle that sounds like its someone with their top lip curling up instead of shaped...aha! ...I race round the back of the barn adn immediately see that a gosling is crying to Mum as it cant get over the board thats on teh ground which was there to stop the lambs originally from trying to get underneath the gate...then I see 'trouble' in the form of that Dusty...the silver tabby! Who do I go for first the cat or the gosling...Mum is hissing away and having been bitten and bowled over by a goose once I am apprehensive..aaah! the gosling ....finally after messing around in the paddock I realise this is useless with this cat!! SO grabbed him and take him back to the house ..this is one annoyed cat hissing/growling/lashing out/biting....funny I am not apprehensive with him!!

Go back and try to get the goose to take Daisy to teh pond which is hwere I think she was headed anyhow. Then another cat! Grab! back to the house. Back out and find the goose...Daisy is stuck in teh long grass..grab her and mum hisses and runs at me....I run away...then I try to lure Mum towards the pond with daisy in hand...then realise I need to put her down...great Mum and Daisy are reunited....however only Mum manages to get over the tracks in the grass...so now I am running up and down the tracks trying to catch the gosling..yep got her! and take her into the pond area...Mum jumps in...followed by me setting Daisy down on the grass she falls in and rights herself..and joins them. What a cacophony follows with greetings from all her family and hovering over Dasiy in a very, very protective manner...greeting Daisy and making sure she's close to them.

A picture of Daisy is on my album.

How I spend my days!...the other day I rescued a mouse once again that was near death so sat with that for an hour till it warmed up and got over the shock of being caught by the cats...then it was a lizard...

...no wonder I dont have time for all these 'jobs'...

...I think I'll go to bed early tonight!

Well what an eventful afternoon - that sure beats clearing out an attic room!!

With all your tales and Brenda's tales, you should get together and write a TV series, you could be the new James (or Jane) Herriot!!

Must say you are braver than me, picking up a gosling with mum in the near vicinity! I got chased by a goose once at Etherow Park near Marple when I was feeding the ducks and the goose decided she wasn't getting her fair share of the goodies, and the snap of her bill on my fingertips brought tears to my eyes, I can tell you!

Am off now to have a peek at Daisy.

Dear little baby ........ bet her little legs were worn out with all the running through the grass. You are lucky to have one hatched my friend had two females and a gander and they never managed to hatch a single egg. Not sure why although I think they may have given them too many places to lay their eggs and so the females kept moving from one set to another and letting them get cold. Although ferocious they are appealing daft at times. :D
