 Thank you all for your lovely welcoming words, I've been reading thru the Introduce Yourself section and must say you all sound like a wonderful group, and I'm pleased and proud to join you.

I do feel that we can all create our own 'Minack' wherever we live, and the thing about the Minack is that it is essentially a Camelot for us all, the Once and Future land, which embodies our own particular dreams.

I have a theory about the cottage itself, and I think Derek & Jeannie believed it too, and that is that the cottage has been standing for many, many years and has had many 'lives' of its own, and will continue to do so. Do you remember when Derek spoke of seeing in his mind's eye, the flitting images of all those other custodians of the cottage? I think Derek & Jeannie, and Monty, Lama, Oliver, Ambrose, Cherry, Penny, Fred & Merlin, to say nothing of Boris and the wild birds and beasts have become a part of that magic place for ever.

By the way - can anyone tell me if Merlin is still alive? I thought he was, living in a donkey sancturary somewhere? Cheers all, Jennie

Hi Jennie
Merlin sadly died but Susie is still at the Sanctuary. There are one or two people here who have seen her quite recently. Dex and his wife Mel have seen her.
All you say about Minack and it's many 'lives' is so true. Do you remember an old, old, movie called 'The Enchanted Cottage?' About a pianist who was not very beautiful and the man had been badly disfigured in the war, but when they were in the cottage both of them were made beautiful and unscarred. Minack has a similar magice, you can feel it when you walk Oliver Land and spy Dorminack in the distance. Ah......lovely memories. :)

Gosh! Gloria, I remember that one and it was a beautiful film.

Jennie Gloria's hit the nail with that...its so true. Just magical and there is nowhere in the world that quite holds that feeling.
