View Full Version : A belated hello from Joan

I thought it was about time I said a belated hello to everyone I met at the AGM and Memorial Weekend in March. I had a wonderful time talking to so many interesting people, and came away feeling I'd made lots of new friends. One of the main highlights of the entire weekend was the walk to Oliver land. It is something I've wanted to do since I first discovered Derek Tangye's books a few years ago. What an emotional moment it was when I first saw, and then entered Oliver land through the "place for solitude" gate. I felt privileged to walk in Derek and Jeannie's meadows, to sit on the Ambrose Rock, and to pay my respects to them both at the gate to the Honeysuckle Meadow.
Having now taken the plunge into the world of modern technology, I am looking forward to keeping in touch with the 'Friends' I met in person, and the ones I'll meet through the Discussion Forum.

Hello Joan
So lovely to see you in the Discussion Forum. Hope your visit to Glasgow is a happy one and look forward to your "joining in" again when you return home.
Janet
P.S. I'm interested in the pea and mushroom risotta - any chance your husband would share his recipe?

Hello Janet, Kath, John & Mim, and Gloria,
Thank you all for your words of welcome. Having taken the plunge, you'll hear more from me on my return from Glasgow. Janet, I'll make sure you get Robert's risotto recipe. I think he's quite pleased to think that anyone would be interested in it.
I am feeling guilty for not having contacted John and Mim sooner. I would like to say a belated thank you to both of you for making us so welcome when we visited your studio with Patricia and Bounty. As well as the studio, I really loved your garden. I think you are so lucky to live in such a wonderful location at the top of the "winding lane".
