Right, well I'm just the other side of 60 (cringe) married to Eddie for over 42 years. Three grown up sons. Only one married and he lives in America (works for Microsoft - so far West Coast). The middle son still at home - I know but what can you do?? The youngest son works as a groundsman at the local Masonic School for Girls and has a flat there. During the last 35 odd years I have kept ponies for my sons, and bred pure-bred Connemara Ponies and part breds. Shown them in hand and my youngest son competed at a good level. I have served on many committees currently the Shih Tzu Club Committee but also the local Pony Club where I took the tetrathlon children to compete and for my sins helped them with shooting practice (only at paper targets nothing more!) and generally had a fun time - children and ponies are the greatest when it comes to the rewards of seeing children flourish in their care and concern for the pony they ride. Also served on the Scout Supporters Group as secretary raising funds for the local Scouts and Cubs which they desperately need to keep going and the school PTA. As mentioned in another post I had a small and rowdy flock of Shetland Sheep when I kept the ponies, the idea was that they would cross graze the land - instead they tried to filch the pony food and ate only the good grass we had some lovely fleeces from them and my idea was to spin them, but I was always too busy to find the time  I have been involved with the Shih Tzu breed for around 18 years and have an elderly Westie and 4 Shih Tzu (now in short coat). As a child we had a persian cat who lived to be a real old lady but have not kept a cat since then.
I have lived in Hertfordshire all my life - bit boring I guess but work kept us in the area for our working lives but now our attention is turned towards Cornwall which we first visited about 40 odd years ago and fell in love with in one fell swoop.
Well that's about it at present - but who knows what the future has in store?

Phew! I am exhausted Gloria! You are so busy!

I don't think for one minute living in one place is boring...I wish had been able to! Imagine all the friends, familiarity and reassurance that comes from that.

Fascinating life and yes sheep are unpredictable creatures ~ personally I do not think they are the stupid creatures think they are. In fact quite the reverse!

What will your son do who lives at home? Will he move with you to Cornwall? Did you see there is a couple of properties for sale in Lamorna Cove? I am always checking properties for sale down there....

It really is lovely to meet you..... :)

Hi Gloria, it's lovely to meet you. You do sound soooo busy. I love sheep, I think there's a conspiracy against them as they're quite clever really :)

My daughter would love to meet your ponies she has a Welshie cross Arab named Sally who is coming up to 30 yrs old now but still going strong even with her arthritis.

Not sure if our middle son will move with us or not - he sometimes thinks he will then at others feels the need to be nearer to London as he is in a band and he needs to be in reasonable distance of Town at times. We'll see. First we need to find the property. I have noticed property in Lamorna - it is usually quite an expensive area. When we were there in the Spring there was a lovely little cottage for sale right down by the harbour, I was tempted to view but it was very tiny and probably more of a holiday home.

The native ponies and crosses are usually tough and live long lives - 30 is a good age, we did have an Exmoor cross pony "Toggles" who lived well into his 30's. He did pony club camp several times, in later years we loaned him to some friends with an ex-racehorse mare who needed a companion which suited him as he had become a bit stiff and had done more than his bit in educating children to ride and care for him.

Right, well I'm just the other side of 60 (cringe).....
Age is only a number and should be of no consequence to how we feel about ourselves  :D

Age is a milestone with which we always seem to take stock or measure .....Derek did not consider age....its what we are and what we have done with our lives....

...and yet I still find it hard not to keep thinking about age....!!

HELP!
